Summer Shopping Must Haves

Articles for Her, For Kids / Friday, July 6th, 2018

Shopping for the whole family for summer can be overwhelming, and expensive! The boys go through more clothes daily, because they’re outside getting them dirty and changing into clean ones. It’s a never ending cycle of laundry around here in the summer months especially. When shopping for clothes, I always try to be budget conscious, and there are certain areas that I will “splurge” for a higher quality brand or item. I have broken down some of my favorite budget friendly items for summer, for both kids and women (along with links to purchase them if you so choose)! Let me know what you think, and where your favorite budget friendly places are to shop for the family!

Gymboree Kids Swimwear

When it comes to the kids’ swim suits, I like to have multiple suits for each kid, and they have to be good quality (we had a wardrobe malfunction at a water park last year). Gymboree is always my first stop for suits for the boys, because they are very reasonably priced (and on sale a lot of times), good quality, prints and colors both boys like (which is hard to find sometimes), and they also have matching rash guards. My oldest picked this neon shark suit this year!

Janie and Jack’s Midsummer Picnic Collection (Boys)

Aviator sunglasses, embroidered Gingham shorts, color block polos…what’s not to love? Janie and Jack is one of my favorite places to outfit the boys, but I am obsessing over this new Midsummer Picnic Collection.

Jurassic World  by Gymboree

Anyone else have a Dino obsessed kid at home? Have you seen Jurassic World yet? With the release of the movie this summer, a trip to Gymboree for some JW apparel/accessories was a must. Both boys picked t-shirts and hats, and my oldest picked this one below.

Universal Thread Women’s Mid-Rise Destructed Midi Jean Shorts (Target)

I feel like I’m letting the cat out of the bag here. Seriously. Have you all tried the Universal Thread brand at Target yet? They released their jeans at the beginning of the year and I couldn’t believe the price point, quality and fit! Target was never a place I would shop for jeans in the past, but I can honestly not even tell the difference between these and my designer brand. Regular price on these Midi Jean Shorts is $17! For that price, how can you NOT try a pair?! I promise, you will thank me later!

Old Navy Mid-Rise Linen-Blend Pull-On Shorts for Women

Linen shorts are my current obsession. They give me that feeling of being “put together” without feeling too dressed up. You can get away with wearing these to run errands, to a birthday party, or even an evening date. Priced at under $20, these are a must have for sure.

Old Navy EveryWear Graphic Crew-Neck Tee for Women

You all know I’m a sucker for a good graphic tee. During the summer I pretty much live in them. They’re cute, comfy, and wash and wear for all the outdoor activities I am out doing with the kids. Bonus points for the price point of this one- it’s under $15!
