Is it just me or does January literally feel like the longest month ever? I swear Christmas was 6 months ago, but in reality it was just a little over a month ago. We have even had a pretty busy January, so I’m not sure why it has seemed so long. We’ve been busy over here at Suburban Boy Mom this month, and have some super fun, new companies we are working with, so stay tuned! If you aren’t following me on social media, head over to Instagram and Facebook and give me a follow (@suburbanboymom and links are in the side panel), because we will have some more fun things happening over there as well!
I’ll be honest with you- I’m not a huge Valentine’s Day person. We celebrate it, of course, but it’s nothing over the top. I’m not sure if it’s because February is our month of chaos (5 birthdays in our immediate family), so we just kind of go through the motions, or what. Even though I don’t count down the days to Valentine’s Day, by February I am always ready for some pops of color around the house, and I will use any excuse I can to decorate in pink and red! After the expense of Christmas- the gifts, experiences and decorations, I don’t want to spend a lot on my Valentine’s Day decor, so I honestly never had much. Then I discovered Target’s Valentine’s Day stuff last year. Of course anyone can find everything in Target, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they are now my go-to for all my Valentine’s Day needs, but my favorite part is that it’s affordable and doesn’t LOOK cheap. That was always the issue I had with any affordable Valentine’s Day decorations I did find- it looked cheap. I don’t want my house to look like my kids decorated it with things they brought home from their friend’s birthday party grab bag.
I want to share with you some of my favorite Valentine’s Day items in this year’s lineup! Some of these are the new version of what I got last year, and some are items I just have to have. So tell me- what’s your favorite Valentine’s Day item? Do you decorate your home for the holiday?
